TB Testing

Why Do a TB Skin Test?
Tb skin testing is a test to determine if you have been exposed to the Tb bacteria (tuberculosis bacteria). You may need a Tb skin test for employment, travel or because you have been in contact with someone who has Tb.

How is a TB Skin Test Done?
48-72 hours after the skin test, your arm will be checked to see if you have a positive or negative reading. A two-step test is recommended for people who have never had this test done before. This is simply repeating the original test 1-3 weeks after the initial testing.

What does a TB Skin Test Cost
?
This is not an OHIP covered test and so a $10.00 charge applies for each step. Testing is done in Health services.
